This Privacy Policy explains how Screen Beaver (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you visit https://screenbeaver.com, use our web studio demo, or use the Screen Beaver desktop application and related services (together, the “Services”).
Screen Beaver is built around a local-first idea: screen recording, editing, and H.264 export are designed to happen on your device whenever possible. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by Screen Beaver. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may process:
- Account and contact details you provide (for example name, email, and billing information if you purchase a plan).
- Usage and diagnostics from the website or app (pages viewed, feature events, crash logs, device/OS type) to keep the product reliable.
- Payment metadata from our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
- Communications you send us (support mail, feedback).
3. Recordings, projects, and local processing
Screen captures, project files, timelines, zooms, captions, and exported videos are created and stored on your device unless you explicitly choose to upload or share them elsewhere.
- Browser studio demos run in your browser; display media you share is not uploaded to us for encoding in the demo flow described on the site.
- Desktop exports are intended to composite and encode locally (H.264 MP4) on your machine.
- Optional features such as AI voiceover or cloud-assisted tools may send only the content required for that feature to a subprocess or provider you enable — we will describe that in-product when applicable.
- MCP / agent workflows run under your AI tool’s connection; we do not receive your full chat history unless you send it to us for support.
4. Website analytics and cookies
Our marketing site may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site function, preferences, and (if enabled) aggregated analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use your recordings as advertising inventory.
5. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Process purchases, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
- Send transactional messages (receipts, security notices). Marketing email only with consent where required.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
6. Sharing
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Services (hosting, payments, email, analytics), under obligations to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that transaction with notice where required.
7. Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and security purposes. Local recordings on your device are under your control — delete them anytime from your machine or library.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please protect your devices and account credentials.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at [email protected] to make a request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International transfers
If you access the Services from outside the country where our systems operate, your information may be processed in other countries with different data-protection rules. We take steps appropriate to the transfer mechanism when required.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and material changes may be highlighted on the site or by email when appropriate.
